The purpose of the Pandemic EBT is to provide food assistance to families with students who would have received free or reduced lunch while attending school, but are not in school due to COVID-19 restrictions. This benefit is available only to families with students enrolled in an Indiana school, and were eligible for free or reduced lunch or the school is a Community Eligibility Provision participant.
The federal regulations outlined for P-EBT eligibility from October 1, 2020 to January are significantly different from the spring and fall regulations. Only Free and Reduced classified students will receive the P-EBT distributions. The amounts on the cards will reflect only the days absent by each student due to COVID reasons.
The cards will be issued January 31, 2021, to the student's address listed in Skyward.
