Washington Community Schools was proud to host the annual Future Chefs Competition, a cooking competition open to students in grades 2nd-5th. Future Chefs is hosted by Sodexo, WCS’s food service provider, and was coordinated by Director Eben Lips. The purpose of Future Chefs is to teach students about healthy eating and food safety.
The theme was School Lunch Reimagined. Third and fourth places went to Brent, from Veale Elementary, who prepared Healthy Baked Fish Sticks, and Blake, also from Veale, who made Sweet Potato Hash Browns.
Second place went to Brecklin, also from Veale, with her Grilled Chicken and Shrimp Wrap, and taking first place was Armani from Lena Dunn Elementary and his Tacos Armani.
