Youth Environmental Leadership Summit
Their mission is to engage students in real-world problem solving for environmental change and sustainability by exposing students to innovative academic, research, and professional opportunities.
This is a class project for Mrs. Schaffer's Environmental Science dual credit students. Students worked in groups to research a local environmental issue and frame the problem the issue presents in our community including all stakeholders affected by possible solutions to the problem. They did not have to solve the problem but show they are knowledgeable about the ecological and social aspects of the problem. Graduate students and professors help them learn how to address their issue and frame it in a way to present to leaders in their community such as zoning boards, city council or any other governing body that can execute possible solutions.
