Jr. Beta State Convention

jr beta state

Woodworking and Mixed media were both competitions where the students created something to bring in and have judged. Social Studies, Math, and Science were each a 50 question test that was timed. Robotics: The kids had to put together a robot that performed a task. The task this year was "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle". Living Literature was where the students created their version of a scene from a book. Our students picked a scene from the Giver where the main character sees the color red for the first time. They have to hold the position like a wax museum for judging and viewing for increments of 5 minutes at a time. For our Songfest competition, the students had to take a song and make a parody representing Junior Beta. Our students took the song Africa by Toto and created lyrics representing and discussing the qualities of a BETA. For Performing Arts (Solo, Duo, Trio)- Allie Davis choreographed a contemporary dance routine that she performed in front of all Jr. Betas attending State Convention.
