Human Sexuality Curriculum
In accordance with SEA 442, outlined below are the curricular resources associated with instruction on Human Sexuality.
Washington Intermediate & Veale Elementary
4th-grade students, two groups separated by gender
- Instruction will be provided by the school nurse and a staff member of the same gender as the student group.
- At this age, the curriculum is focused on puberty and development, helping students to understand physical and emotional changes during this time.
- “Always Changing” Video for Boys
- “Always Changing” Video for Girls
- Parental/guardian consent to participate is required. Schools notify parents as part of the registration process. If needed, a second notice prior to the presentation of this content.
Washington Upper Elementary
5th-grade students, two groups separated by gender

- This program promotes good decision making by informing teens about the reproductive process, male and female anatomy, and the consequences of making sexual choices, including an unwanted pregnancy or sexually transmitted disease.
