Washington Primary Playground Project
Washington Primary School is undergoing an exciting renovation that will expand the building to serve Pre-K through 2nd grade by August 2027. This project includes a new kindergarten wing and updates to the existing school. As part of this work, we are seeking community support to move, expand, and enhance the school playground for our growing student population.
A revitalized playground will offer safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate spaces where children can play, explore, and learn together. Planned improvements include updated play equipment, expanded play areas, and improved accessibility to support the physical, social, and imaginative development of all students. Fundraising will take place over the next year, with the goal of ordering new equipment in fall 2026 and installing it during spring/summer 2027 in time for the 2027–2028 school year.
Several current playground structures will be relocated to the new site. Additional equipment is needed to support our expanded grade levels, including 2nd grade students who will join Washington Primary beginning in the 2027-2028 school year. We have identified a selection of playground pieces and themed play elements that we hope to purchase through a combination of community contributions and grant funding.
We invite families, alumni, local businesses, and community members to partner with us in this effort. Together, we can create a playground that reflects the joy, growth, and bright future of Washington Primary.
