Our Community Foundation recently awarded a $400 grant to WHS Band Boosters.

Our Community Foundation recently awarded a $400 grant to WHS Band Boosters. The grant was made possible by the Washington High School Band Boosters Fund, a designated fund held by Our Community Foundation.

The Washington Community Schools Band Booster Fund is a designated fund established by Scott and Erica Arthur in 2022. The fund’s purpose is to provide support for band student scholarships and/or long-range asset improvements following the mission of the Washington Band Boosters Association.

When you establish a designated fund, you can direct your gift to a specific non-profit organization or purpose. The fund provides a steady and reliable source of annual support.

For Scott and Erica, the fund supports the Band Boosters and provides a way for the group to offer the Maryann Hamilton Scholarship. A respected and well-liked band director, Mrs. Hamilton served Washington Schools from the late 1960’s through the early 2000’s. The fund provides support for the scholarship to continue and to provide stable income for the Band Boosters asset improvement projects. The fund also provides a means for band alumni and friends of the band program to make a long-term investment in the program’s future.
