New Business:   

 

COVID-19 Back to School Plan

           The board approved the COVID-19 Back to School Plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The plan will be posted on the Washington Community Schools website on                June 18, 2021.

 

Wednesday Early Release/School Day Schedule

The board approved to resume the Wednesday Early Release schedule for staff professional development and a slight change to the school day schedule for the 2021-22 school year. 

 

Elementary: 7:45 am - Students may enter the building

        8:05 am - Instructional day begins

        Dismissal varies slightly per building depending on bus scheduling. 

 

Secondary:  7:30 am - Students may enter the building

        8:00 am - Instructional day begins

3:10 pm - Dismissal

 

Wednesday Early Release: Students are dismissed one hour earlier.

Begins Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

 

Summer Facility Updates   

Dr. Roach updated the board on ongoing and upcoming facility updates and improvements happening this summer. Some of the improvements include:

 

• New Roof at Central Office and Veale Elementary

• HVAC and Boiler at Lena Dunn Elementary and Griffith Elementary

• Updated digital controls in all buildings

• Bleachers at Lena Dunn Elementary

• Roof Facade updated at Lena Dunn Elementary

• Playground fencing relocated at Lena Dunn

• New flooring at North Elementary and Lena Dunn Elementary

• Septic Lift Station Mound at Veale Elementary

• All parking lots milling/will be repaved

• Two gravel lots paved

• Restroom grout & seal at Lena Dunn Elementary

• UVC lighting updates in all buildings other than Griffith which was previously installed

• Kitchen Walk-in Cooler and flooring repairs at Griffith Elementary

• All classrooms will receive Viewsonic Smartboards

• Security Camera System upgrades in all buildings

• PLTW computer upgrades
