Laura Allison, ELL Teacher,  Nominated by Washington Primary Principal Kristin Murphy

“Ms. Allison’s dedication to Washington Community Schools is truly commendable. She has embraced her new role with enthusiasm and commitment, seamlessly managing a large caseload of students while making it look effortless. She goes above and beyond to maximize instructional time, creating a structured schedule that ensures both she and her aide can serve as many students as possible throughout the day.

A true team player, Ms. Allison extends her support beyond Washington Primary, assisting other schools in need. She has proactively coordinated with a high school student who speaks Haitian Creole to better support our students and meet teacher needs. Always willing to bridge the communication gap, she is quick to call parents whenever the office or teachers require assistance. Taking her dedication even further, she has begun learning Haitian Creole to better connect with students and families, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported.

Ms. Allison consistently steps up to translate documents, make phone calls, and immerse herself in the community. She is a key contributor to our school’s progress, volunteering for committees, assisting with documentation, and even taking on lunch duties when needed. As a firm believer in Kids at Hope, she embodies the spirit of our school’s mission.

Washington Primary is incredibly fortunate to have Ms. Allison on our team. Her hard work and passion are truly making a difference!”
