Staff Members of the Month - March 2026

Meg Hinkle, Instructional Assistant at Washington Upper Elementary, Nominated by Principal Rhiannon Fry

“Ms. Hinkle has gone above and beyond for one of our students with unique needs. She took time to make a special remote for this student to be included in the robotics unit in STEM class so that the student was able to drive the robot. She took time out of her contracted time to show up and help our student at STEM night so that the student could participate and show off their robotic skills.  

She is kind and patient and shows just how much she wants students to have success and overcome obstacles. We are lucky to have her at Upper Elementary, working hard to show our students success and that no matter what, you can achieve what you want if you work past obstacles and keep trying.”

“To start with, she is simply an all-around great person. She is always asking what she can do to help and is the kind of person who makes others feel valued. She takes the time to truly know the people she works with and always wants you to know that she cares about you and your family.

She is also incredibly involved in our school community. She is always willing to serve wherever she is needed. She represents our staff on the PTO committee, serves on the High Ability committee, participates on the leadership team, and leads collaboration for her team.

What truly sets her apart is the relationships she builds. She forms strong connections with her students and their families and goes above and beyond by supporting her students outside of the classroom, even attending their events. She always has a smile on her face and brings a positive presence to our building.

She has a special ability to connect with every child. Even when paired with our most challenging students, she creates relationships that leave a lasting impact.

Washington Primary is a better place because of her dedication, heart for students, and commitment to our school community. She truly represents the very best of what it means to be a Washington Primary Treasure Hunter.”

 

Mandee Dawson, Sodexo Facility, Nominated by Facilities Director Graham Geisler

“I am glad to nominate Mandee Dawson as Employee of the Month. As our Lead at Upper Elementary, Mandee has risen to the occasion amid significant staff turnover.  Mandee has been an anchor, stepping up with extraordinary resilience and showing leadership by training new team members.

 Mandee is always one to volunteer for events at her building, such as home football games and for large events at the High School. Most recently, she took time out of her weekend to assist at another building needing extra attention.  

In a year of transition, Mandee has been a constant. She exemplifies Sodexo and WCS values not just through her work, but through her character.
