Washington Community Schools Names New Superintendent

The Washington Community Schools Board has announced Mr. Kevin Frank as the next Superintendent of Washington Community Schools. Mr. Frank will assume his leadership duties beginning July 1, 2022.
Mr. Frank has served as Assistant Superintendent of Washington Community Schools since 2015. In this role he has led the district to deliver high-quality education by implementing effective, meaningful curriculum that meets all state and federal standards. He created an organized format of curriculum mapping and implemented standards-based report cards in grades K-5. Mr. Frank has advanced the use of technology in the classroom through staff training and professional development, and has been vital in securing a wide array of grants and funding to support academic programs across all grade levels.
He began his career in public education as a math teacher and basketball coach, and went on to serve as Assistant Principal and High School Principal at Eastern Greene Schools. He earned his BS in Math Education with an endorsement in Computer Education and his MS in Education Leadership from Indiana University, and his EdS in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University.
Kevin has been married to his wife Amy for the past 21 years. Amy has taught various levels and subjects of science for the last 23 years including the last 4 at Washington Junior High School. They have two children: Xavier, a sophomore at Washington High School, and Aubrey, a freshman at Washington High School.
“I am excited and honored to be chosen to replace Dr. Roach as the next superintendent for Washington Community Schools. I have learned a great deal working under his leadership the last 6 and half years,” said Mr. Frank. “I look forward to continuing the momentum we have through a variety of initiatives designed to provide a strong education and positive experience for all of our students. And, I am excited for the future possibilities of working with our school board, staff, parents, and community at large to continuously consider ways to improve Washington Community Schools.”

He has been a collaborative leader in curriculum alignment, student-centered learning and STEM initiatives. Mr. Frank has worked tirelessly with our teachers and administrators in professional development of staff and has secured numerous grants to enhance and extend educational opportunities for our students. The Washington Community School Board of Trustees fully supports Mr. Kevin Frank and acknowledges his determined effort to provide every student with an education focused on individual student needs and molding them into productive community members.”
