Washington High School Welcomes Bo Burkhart as New Boys Basketball Coach

Washington High School is proud to announce the hiring of its new Head Boys Basketball Coach, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the program. Bo Burkhart joins the district after serving as the Associate Head Coach at Evansville Bosse High School, where he played an instrumental role in leading the team to the 2024 Sectional and Regional Championships.
During his tenure at Evansville Bosse, Burkhart led detailed scouting reports, organized live scouting schedules, and conducted individual player development sessions. His leadership extended beyond the court as he coordinated high school summer events, organized junior high tournaments, and secured sponsorships for fundraising efforts.
Before his time at Evansville Bosse, Burkhart served as an Assistant Coach at Southwestern Illinois College from 2020 to 2023. His responsibilities included academic monitoring, recruiting, individual player development, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court.
His coaching journey began at the Division I level as a Graduate Assistant at Xavier University, where he contributed to game-day preparation, practice planning, player workouts, and film editing for the coaching staff and the university's social media team.
Burkhart holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Xavier University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Central Methodist University, and an Associate’s Degree in Arts from Southwestern Illinois College.

The Washington Community Schools Board will hold a special session to approve Coach Burkhart on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 8:00 pm. Washington High School is excited to welcome Coach Burkhart and his family to the community and looks forward to continued success under his leadership on and off the court.
