Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Washington Community Schools will have (8) 2-Hour Delay Wednesdays, 1 per month excluding December & May, built into our school calendar for staff professional development.

Washington Community Schools Families,

We are excited to see students back at school in 2 weeks and wanted to share with you some important information for the upcoming school year.

It is important for our school district to dedicate time for teacher collaboration to focus on data-informed decision-making and best instructional practices. This allows our entire team of educators to work collectively to provide an educational experience that meets all learners' needs with a more significant impact on student achievement and success.

On July 12, 2023, the Indiana State Board of Education approved the district’s request to increase professional development time for our staff, and it was approved at the WCS School Board meeting on July 20, 2023.
