    Washington Community Schools Pre-Registration is now open! We are working hard this summer to create plans to keep our students healthy, happy, and learning. Pre-Registration helps us plan for the upcoming school year. All parents must complete a Final Enrollment later in July, we will contact you with dates and times.

Requirements and Expectations for Athletes and Parents on July 6th!!

 

The first phase for starting athletics in the state of Indiana begins on July 6th and runs till July 19th.  This will be the first day for workouts.

Participation is restricted to Grades 7-12

Requirements for Athletes for participation:

  1.  Any student-athlete that is exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19(cough, fever, chills, muscle pain, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new loss of taste and smell are not allowed to attend.

  2. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that temperatures are taken prior to attending and that anyone with a fever of 100 degrees may not attend.  Students have to be temperature free for 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine in order to return to workouts.

  3. IHSAA Physical

                A. The IHSAA is allowing physicals from the 2019-20 school year to be valid for the 2020-21 school year.                              They must be on an IHSAA physical form. 7th and 8th graders who had physicals last year using the IHSAA  form will also be good for this year.  If a physical is currently not on file a new one will be required before any participation.

                B. Forms Required.

                             a. WCS Temporary waiver of Physical Exam for Participation in Sports.     

                             b. 2020-21 Health and History Update Questionnaire and Consent and Release Certificate

FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT AND TURNED IN TO YOUR COACH BEFORE ANY WORKOUTS ARE ALLOWED

These forms will be available on the WCS Athletic Website

       4. Water

                  A. Students will need to provide their own water bottles. We will not have coolers for them to fill up with water.

  1. Patience and Accountability

                  A. There are new procedures for coaches and students to work through. Please be patient and attention to detail is vital to limit exposure.  Please be accountable.

Expectations for Athletes and Parents

  1. Only the athletes and school personnel may attend workouts.  This will be in place until Aug. 15.  When parents have questions they need to email their child’s coach or coaches. 

  2. Social Distancing is encouraged to the extent possible.  Many workouts will be outside which makes social distancing easier.  Coaches and student-athletes are recommended to have a face mask when in close proximity to each other. 

  3. Post Workouts

                  A. It is the responsibility of the student-athlete to go immediately after workouts and shower and wash their work out clothes.  

  1. Sanitation

                  A. Each work out facility students will have access to hand sanitizer. Equipment will be sanitized prior to practice and right after practice daily.
